DANCE ENRICHMENT
CURRICULUM BLUEPRINT

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • In-school and or after-school programming, tailored to fit physical education curriculum needs. 

  • ​Space: Dance Studio, Auditorium/ Cafeteria Stage,  Gymnasium, Classroom​.

  • 40 min. to 1 hr.

  • Sound system or Speakers

  • A positive attitude and a desire to work hard and BE BETTER!

DANCE HISTORY

“Dance has been an important part of ceremonyritualscelebrations and 

entertainment since before the birth of the earliest human civilizations.”  

 

Derived from strong cultural backgrounds,

we’ll research and review the history of dance, it’s pioneers, codified contributors, and its renowned impressionable choreographers. 

PROGRAM GOALS

  • Develop dance technique (alignment, rotation, centering, and trans­ference of weight).

  • Develop neuromuscular coordination (precise control of placement and movement of all body parts in relation to the choreography).

  • Enhance rhythm and musicality (how the movement relates to the music).

  • Improve muscle memory (the ability to pick up movements faster, remember them longer, and move in unison with others in the class).

  • Improve dance fitness (strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance).

  • Develop performance quality, style and the ability to communi­cate the meaning of movement.

DANCE FIT

& HEP 

Students will learn a variety of skills including balance, jumping, age appropriate stretches and basic turns.

 

Discipline, focus and creativity are encouraged

and taught in this class.

  • Strength & Conditioning | tailored to build and enhance overall physical strength and endurance.

  • FLOW Yogaan excellent way for children to build strength, improve concentration, and reduce stress in a fun and positive way. Yoga promotes self-regulation, motor control, and sequencing skills through a variety of movement and breathing exercises.

  • Home Exercise Program | plan designed for at-home continued practice and maintenance.
